Good afternoon, APA Colleagues –
As you are aware, we have successfully ratified our 2024-2027 Contract as of January 22, 2025. Article V, Section 3 of our statewide APA Bylaws require that elections of statewide elected officers will be held within 60 days following the ratification of a new contract.
Accordingly, the 2025 Statewide APA Officer Elections will be held via ElectionRunner from 8:00 am March 21st through 5:00 pm March 23rd, 2025.
To self-nominate for the one of the following positions, please email Jenna Shales (jshales@bridgew.edu) the following items by 5:00pm on March 9th, 2025:
- Candidate Statement/Letter to Members: Please include your name, current role, and campus affiliation, and the specific position for which you are applying along with your interest in the position and relevant experience or skills.
- Resume
- These resources will be shared publicly on the APA website prior to the election.
- Please attach as a .doc or .pdf. The APA webmaster will not edit or change any resume or letter once it is submitted.
- Self-nominations received after the deadline will not be considered.
In preparation for these elections, we are now accepting self-nominations for the following statewide APA positions:
- President ($425/mo stipend)
- shall preside at meetings of the Executive Board and the general membership;
- shall appoint the Chairman and members of standing committees and special committees;
- shall perform all other functions usually charged to this office;
- Vice President ($250/mo stipend)
- shall serve as Vice-President of the APA and shall perform the functions usually ascribed to that office;
- shall meet regularly with committee chairs, as defined in Article X, to discuss committee activities;
- shall prepare committee progress reports for the members;
- shall, in the absence of the President, assume the duties and responsibilities of the President until the next scheduled election of officers.
- Secretary ($250/mo stipend)
- shall keep accurate minutes of all meetings of the Executive Board and of the general membership meetings.
- shall maintain official file and shall assist the President with the APA correspondence.
- shall, at least a week prior to a regularly scheduled Executive Board meeting, send to each Chapter a copy of the agenda for that meeting.
- shall, within seven calendar days following an Executive Board meeting, send to each Chapter a copy of the minutes of that meeting.
All elected positions will serve their term concurrent with the contract, and will be installed in their elected position within 30 days following the election. Only active, dues-paying members as defined in APA Bylaws Article III shall have the privilege of voting and holding an elected office in the APA.
The 2025 Election Committee and Statewide Membership Coordinator will verify the eligibility of each candidate. Nominees may conduct their campaign as they see fit. The APA and MTA do not provide funding to candidates for campaigns, nor do they endorse candidates. Requests for email addresses of the membership is allowed, and the roster will be maintained and supplied by Aaron Childs, APA Membership Coordinator.
